Kevin Overton-Hadnot is the owner and therapist at Counseling For Us.  He is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate and native of Austin, Texas, holds degrees in Business Administration, MBA in Organizational Leadership, and an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and he founded Counseling For Us to provide culturally competent care and reduce stigma around mental health.

Dr. Marcus Folkes, Assistant Professor of Counseling and Internship Coordinator, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (FL), Licensed Professional Counselor (TX), and  supervisor who earned his M.S. from Bethune Cookman University and Ph.D. from the University of the Cumberlands. He specializes in working with adolescents and young adults in the child welfare system, focusing on adjustment and traumatic stress, and frequently presents on topics such as trauma-informed care, resiliency, and mental health stigma.

Aaron Elam is a dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) passionate about guiding individuals toward positive change and improved emotional well-being. He holds a Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science from Middle Tennessee State University, a Master's of Science in Clinical Research from Walden University, and most recently, a Master's of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University.

His primary goal is to help children, teens, and young adults navigate challenges like depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, and stress. He empowers his clients through a blend of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Person/Client-Centered Therapy, and Mindfulness, all designed to foster lasting positive change. As he often says, "One person can make a difference," and he's ready to help you make yours!

Nichole is a MSW Practicum Student

 Nichole Martinez holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies and brings over 16 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families in community and service-based settings. Her work focuses on supporting youth development, strengthening family systems, and helping young people navigate emotional and behavioral challenges. Nichole is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work (MSW) while completing clinical training under Kevin Overton-Hadnot at Counseling For Us and Ronnie Cauley. She is passionate about providing compassionate, culturally responsive support that helps youth and families build resilience and thrive.
